 Our
names are Harry and Janelle Yates. The first planting of
2000 Fraser Fir trees was in the spring of 1975. Our
farms have grown to approximately 300 acres in the Blue
Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina, at elevations
from 3,300 feet to over 4,000 feet. In 1957 Harry became
interested in Christmas trees when as a young boy he
planted 600 White Pines and sold 6 years later for $2
each.
We have 2 children: Eddie is 32 and works for JW
Townsend Landscaping company in Charlottesville, VA, and
Kelly is 27 and works for Region 10 also in
Charlottesville, VA. Both Eddie and Kelly grew up
working the Christmas tree farms and still help their
dad at harvest and shipping time.
Our North Carolina landscaping company was started in 1985. We design,
install, and maintain both commercial and residential
landscape settings. Harry designed, installed, and
maintained the beautiful Broyhill Walking Park in Lenoir
NC. The Broyhill Walking Park is truly one of a kind and
was funded by Mr. Paul Broyhill from 1991 until 2004. |
