North Carolina Christmas Tree Association
The mission of the North Carolina Christmas Tree Association (NCCTA) is to promote "real" Christmas trees through marketing and education. The NCCTA strives to contribute to the success of the Christmas tree industry by providing ethical, professional, and visionary leadership.

North Carolina has 1,600 growers producing an estimated 50 million Fraser Fir Christmas trees growing on over 25,000 acres. Fraser Fir trees represent over 90% of all species grown in North Carolina. The North Carolina Christmas tree industry is ranked second in the nation in number of trees harvested.

Watauga County Christmas Tree Association
Growers in Watauga County organized the first mountain incorporated association to advance the interests of the nursery industry in February 1980. The growers that were instrumental in organizing the Watauga County Christmas Tree Association were Kenneth Dotson, Tom Foxx, Marvin Storie, and Harry Yates, along with County Extension Director, Gene Brewer. The first Board of Directors included Herbert Aldridge, Ray Clark, Kenneth Dotson, Raymond Farthing, Tom Foxx (Vice President), Marvin Storie, Denver Taylor, Bobby Yates (Secretary/Treasurer), and Harry Yates (President). Members voted in 2006 to change the name of the association to the Watauga County Christmas Tree Association in order to better represent the actual membership base.

National Christmas Tree Association
The National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA) strives to be one voice representing Christmas tree professionals and promoting the use of real Christmas trees. More than 5,100 professionals support NCTA programs through membership; participation (through their state association) in the Tree Industry Partnership (TIP) program and/or individual investments in the Market Expansion Campaign.

NC Nursery & Landscape Contractors Association
The North Carolina Association of Nurserymen and the North Carolina Landscape & Grounds Management Association voted to merge October 1, 2006 into the North Carolina Nursery and Landscape Association, Inc. NCNLA is a membership organization of firms interested in the welfare of North Carolina's green industry with emphasis on the nursery and landscape industries. Members include wholesale growers, retailers, suppliers, landscapers, horticulture students and educators.
